I’ve been on Humira since July 24th 2018 and, so far, it’s working beautifully. The first dose was a loading dose of 4 shots, followed by 2 more shots 15 days later, and my once a week maintenance dose on day 29.
The first loading doses made me very tired and I had a headache. I also needed a lot of water and peed a lot. This lasted for a couple days. The second loading doses had the same side effects, but just not as bad. A week before my weekly dose, I started getting my psoriasis behind my ear back that I had as a child until age 17. I had no headache with just the one shot and just tired for a day instead of two.
My Hidradenitis is still in my left arm, but starting to close up slowly. Any new boils are going away in a day or two and hardly hurt at all. I really hope this lasts.
My joints and back pain is started to ease up too which makes me wonder if I have Ankylosing Spondylitis? Humira helps with this and it’s the only Arthritis I haven’t been tested for. I will be talking to my doctor about this in a few weeks when I follow up with him for the depression meds (Zoloft) I started taking. I have stopped taking anything for pain for almost a month now just to see if my pain gets better. I have pain from the scoliosis and damage already done to my joints and spine, but the inflammation and all over body pain is less and I can walk without wanting to scream. Right now, my right hip and female issues are the worst pain. I really hope this is what I have only because Humira is helping me, whereas having just osteoarthritis has no real treatment. Both are bad to have, but as least “A.S.” can be treated with Humira.
In conclusion, Humira is working thus far and I hope it continues to do so.
